The new MÁS program for Afro-Latino youth 2021
MÁS is very excited to start a youth program this year.
‘Connecting MORE’ is a program that will bring together Afro-Latino/Afro-indigenous youth from 15 to 21 years of age over the course of 10 fortnightly meetings. These youth will participate in seminars on Afro-Latinity, interview local Afro-Latino/Afro-Indigenous artists, compose exhibition pieces to be posted on the MÁS website, and create a piece of art that explores their own cultural heritage. The program will culminate with a celebration and exhibition of these pieces. Youth will also receive a stipend for their participation and completion of the program.

“Connecting Us More’ is a program that will connect Afro-Latinx/Afro-Indigenous youths from ages 15-21 over the course of 10 semi-monthly meetings. These youth will participate in seminars on Afro-Latinidad, interview locally-based Afro-Latinx/ Afro-Indigenous artists, compose expository pieces to be published on MAS’s website, and create an art piece that explores their own cultural heritage. The program will culminate in a celebration and exhibition of these pieces. Youth will also receive a stipend for their participation and completion of the program.
