From a desire to continue growing our community and center Black voices, we are excited to open a call, to welcome new members to our Board of Directors and Abundance Committee. We are looking for community members who are: rooted in a deep understanding of intersectional experiences; excited to strengthen the vision of MÁS; and passionate about supporting our ongoing cultural and educational activities that highlight Afro experiences from the global south.
At MÁS our central axis is to work collectively to promote Black pride and power and fight anti-Blackness with one of the Black community’s most powerful weapons/tools: Art We focus on connecting communities and our mission, vision and values are aligned in this sense. For this reason, four committees along with the working board, working interdependently, sustain the work of the MÁS
MÁS Board of Directors
The MÁS Board is made up of volunteer members of our community who, through centering Blackness, work to support the strategic vision and implement the mission and objectives of the organization in collaboration with the different MÁS committees and staff. They aim to work collectively to maintain unity and sustain the heart of the work we do as an organization with Black community and voices at the center.

All members of both the Board and Abundance Committee are volunteers and serve the community without compensation. Therefore, the alignment and commitment to the vision of MÁS is the main strength. We want to unite and enhance both the intention of the members of these committees and that of MÁS. Inviting new members is also opening ourselves to new flavors and perspectives in conversations and decision-making.
Who are we looking for?
We invite the following groups to be part of our Board of Directors: Afro-Latino, LGBTQIA+, Afro and Indigenous, and youth artists. We want to invite the least heard voices within the dominant structures in this country and within the Latin American diaspora. It is important that the members of these committees commit to the following:
- Shareour values
- Be over 18 years of age
- Participate in our events and programs
- Be willing to share with the rest of the committees and representatives of our community
- Have a willingness to dedicate 7 to 10 hours a month to work with MÁS

MÁS Abundance Committee
The Abundance Committee: is a team of thought partners who lead, develop, guide and implement organizational resource development strategies and long-term sustainable resource mobilization solutions. We adapt and learn as we go.

- are interested in resisting status quo structures of fundraising and capitalist, transaction-based relationships
- looking to heal their relationships with money
- embrace revisioning how we interact with money
