My name is Wilbor Guerrero, I am a Garífuna from Homduras C.A. I moved to USA. when I was 15 years old and I lived in New York for 12 years. Here I was able to finish my Hight School diploma and graduated from university with a degree in Information Systems. I now live and work here in the Seattle area and serve on the executive board of Garinagu Houngua (GarinaguHoungua.org); a non-profit organization oriented to preserve and enhance our Garífuna heritage. I am also a member of a Health Coalition in the area.
I am very passionate about community organizing and sports. Organizing with my Garifuna community here in the greater Northwest area is near and dear and organizing with Garinagu Houngua has given me the opportunity to be a part of other groups and communities. I am a proud father of three beautiful children; two girls and one boy. I have always been so passionate about community organizing, but being a parent has made me more focused and eager to accomplish what is needed in my community.
