Haydeé Lavariega is a Bene Xhon Zapotec Indigenous nonbinary organizer and educator from Oaxaca, Mexico. They ground their practice in Indigenous values of collectivity, acknowledgment, and relationships that honor the knowledges and narratives of their community. They work diligently and intentionally to organize and collectively heal by utilizing decolonial and anti-racist frameworks that center Black and Indigenous people and other People of Color in practice. They deeply believe that organizing and healing must be done together, with awareness of the multitude of intersections and complexities of community, in our journey to collective liberation. Haydeé holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington.
