Our performance is this Friday, December 1st at Benaroya Hall! Please check down below for updated details about parking, the schedule for the day, and – most importantly – when and where you will need to be for our dress rehearsal and performance. It’s been a busy couple of months full of hard work and we hope that you thoroughly enjoy our day together!

11/19/23

ur final rehearsal is this Sunday, November 26th at Langston Hughes PAI from 1 PM to 5 PM PST. This rehearsal will focus on sound and other tech needs, and we need your patience and focus to be organized and efficient with our time. Please come prepared to listen and watch quietly, and to follow direction as we complete our final preparations. This is also your time to see the show! Food will again be provided following the rehearsal.

11/9/23

Our third rehearsal is this Saturday at 1 PM! You should receive an email beforehand with information about what everyone can do to be ready. This will include a rehearsal agenda, the show order, and reminders that will help us make the most out of our short time together. Please help us all stay as healthy as possible by considering taking COVID tests (as needed) as we get closer to our performance date and by considering wearing a mask when indoors together.

10/24/23

Milvia and Monica will meet on Saturday to revise the show order, which will be sent to you before our next rehearsal on Saturday, November 11th. For this rehearsal, please be prepared for it to be run like the performance itself, and please consider wearing a mask when not performing so that we can all stay as healthy as possible.

10/17/23

The production team will need ample time to set up sound and other tech needs prior to the start of rehearsal on Sunday, October 22nd. All artists should arrive by and be ready to begin promptly at 1 PM, as we’ll have some information to share after a centering/grounding activity and before the rehearsal begins.

10/04/2023

All Groups: Please send a preliminary list of your stage/technical needs to Mara Díaz by Monday, October 9th.

10/03/2023

The next walkthrough/tour of the performance venue at Benaroya Hall for artists will take place after the production team meets with venue coordinators for a production meeting on Wednesday, October 11th. As soon as this meeting is completed, we will provide helpful information as well as date and time information for scheduling your optional walkthrough/tour.

FAQ

When and where is the performance?

The performance takes place on Friday, December 1st at Benaroya Hall. Artists should arrive at 1 PM for tech rehearsal at 2 PM; pre-show meal at 5 PM; and the show at 7 PM.

Will there be an option to watch the performance online for those who are not in attendance?

For a variety of reasons, the performance will not be live-streamed. However, some tickets will be provided at no cost to MÁS’s constituents via its donor campaign; please contact Milvia for more details.

How many tickets to the performance can we have?

Each group will be provided 8 tickets, sponsored from MÁS’s donation campaign. These will be distributed to each artist group at our final rehearsal.

Can I bring anything to Benaroya Hall before the date of the performance?

We will be on site at Benaroya Hall on Thursday, November 30th from 9 AM – 4 PM. During those hours, you are welcome to bring any instruments, costumes, and/or props that you’d like. They will be kept in a secured area overnight.

s there information about transportation to/from Benaroya Hall?

We will provide a one-page document at our final rehearsal that contains information about parking and transportation to and from Benaroya Hall, which will also be posted on the MÁS website. General information is also available on the Benaroya Hall website.

Where can I find the show order?

The order of the show will be sent to you by email and will be available on the MORE website. Please note that it is subject to revision between rehearsals and the date of the performance. We will also publish the order of the shows in the rehearsal spaces themselves.

Dreaming with MÁS

During this year at MÁS we began a collective process of deepening who we are and what we want and dream of as MORE. With ancestral whispers we welcome the artists and the community into this construction space. With this collective piece we want to enunciate and put our being and doing in dialogue with the community, centering black voices. We invite you to be part of this reflection. Ignite the conversation with us by watching this video, which we hope can dialogue and root each piece of this great story, our history, Ancestral Whispers of Sea and Land.
