Help us give free tickets to 250 members of our communities

With the intention of bringing a greater awareness of Afrodescendant and migrant artists and communities here in greater King County highlighting Afrodiasporic art as a tool for connection, healing, and remembrance of our communities, we present Whispers of Ancestrality: Of Land and Sea, a collective production that will take place at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall on December 1st, 2023, showcasing a range of traditional music and dance from 9 Central and South American regions in unity. The production brings together the cultural flavors and artistic manifestations of the Latin American Afrodiaspora and exemplifies deeply rooted cultural connections as well as differences across 9 regions.

At MÁS we embrace and activate our values with a sense of love and friendship and in an interest to spread care into our communities. One of the ways we do this is by guaranteeing free access to our events for all those who need it while ensuring that we honor the labor and heart our artist communities bring to such events with equitable compensation. We understand that art is one of the most important tools for healing in our communities which is why we are committed to generating free access.

So, if you love Afrodiasporic, AfroIndigenous, Afrolatino, and migrant art and artists and have the resources to, we invite you to sponsor community tickets. The desire for justice and equity is what moves us to invite you to be part of this effort. We believe in collectivity, we know that change occurs when we all move collectively towards a common goal. Join this collective effort and celebrate Afro-ancestry with us. We know that together we can achieve it.

Where your funds will go: Your contribution will provide free seats to the MÁS community and all funds raised are paid directly to the performing artists and stage crew. Your support will ensure free access to community members. While we have a goal to collectively sponsor 250 tickets, we will continue to accept sponsorships to cover the cost of tickets and support ongoing events like this one.

How to become a sponsor: You can sponsor tickets by selecting one of the buttons below represented by MÁS’s values. Each button allows you to sponsor varying amounts of tickets, in increments of 1, 5, 10, 20, or 30 tickets. You may also donate any amount of your choice – there is no minimum or maximum sponsorship. Each of your donations will help us deliver free tickets to collaborators, allies, members of our Afrodescendant communities, and artist friends and family.
