We invite you to the virtual presentation and reading of the 2nd volume of the fanzine: Torcer las palabras (Twisting the Words) April 26, 2024 at 4:30 pm PST/SEA. A product of the second edition of the Autobiographical writing workshop: metresas, and imaginary dissidents to coloniality.Through the sessions, created by and for the Afro and Indigenous diasporas of Abya Yala, Johan Mijail led participants through the process of activist writing. This anthology brings together 16 autobiographical texts created over 4 sessions that were born within the framework of analysis of pieces such as: the novel Chapeo by Johan Mijail; the musical genre of Dembow; the performative work of Josefina Baez; the short film “Vegetal Love” and the essay “writing against itself: a microtechnology of political subjectivation” by the activist and writer Valeria Flores. This “archivo torcido (distorted archive)” offers a discursive statement where the “I” is proposed as a habitable place, from a trans poetics.
