This April 04 we present to our community the digital Fanzine “Torcer las palabras” (bending the words), the fruit of the first workshop of the year: metresas, and imaginary dissidents to coloniality. In this workshop, we connected Johan Mijail, a Dominican Republic writer, with people black/afro-descendant LGBTQIA+ from different corners in a virtual encounter to open themselves from the “I”, situated on an antiracist and decolonial approach. The creation and presentation of this fanzine, in alliance with Cantiga Ediciones, is a vehicle to share and continue the conversation with the community of MÁS.
“Torcer las palabras” (bending the words) is, also, a strategy to continue the conversations we held in the 5th series of Más conversaciones para más orgullo (More conversations for more pride) (Watch the series). Participants created autobiographical pieces, related to their connection with gender expansion and healing as kin of the Afro and Indigenous diaspora. In this anthologý, you will find the literary productions of:
Juan David Torres, Sergio Lasso, Carolina Rodríguez Mayo, Génesis Anangonó, Jennifer Uribe, César Chichande, Lizzet Tecuatl, Raza Sosa, Esther Giron, Teresa Karolina, Alejandro Apolonio, Danika Nogales, Whitney Rodriguez and, for closure, Johan Mijail.
The presentation event will count with simultaneous translation to English.
