MÁS activates and strengthens communities through art, raising awareness about the history and cultural contributions of Afro-Latinos for social change and racial equity.
MÁS (Afrolatino Movement Seattle) is calling for volunteers for our upcoming spring concert “Pregones de mi Tierra” (about vendors and oral traditions in Latin America), Saturday June 9, 2018 4-8pm at Plaza Roberto Maestas (Centro de la Raza ). This event will include 11 artistic groups (about 80 artists) from Mexico, Panama, the Garifuna region, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Cuba. This event is sponsored by 4Culture, with the support of Centro de la Raza, it will be free and open to the general public.
We are excited to invite you to be a part of this effort by contributing 90-180 minutes of your time. Some of the volunteer opportunities include:
– Space preparation
– General support in the square
– Support in the children’s area
– Support with artists and logistics
– Support on stage
– Technical support (sound, projection)
– General cleaning
