[vc_section][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]We invite you to the virtual presentation and reading of the 2nd volume of the fanzine: Torcer las palabras (Twisting the Words) April 26, 2024 at 4:30 pm PST\/SEA. A product of the second edition of the <\/span>Autobiographical writing workshop: metresas, and imaginary dissidents to coloniality.<\/span><\/a>Through the sessions, created by and for the Afro and Indigenous diasporas of Abya Yala, Johan Mijail led participants through the process of activist writing. You can read Johan\u2019s reflection on the workshop <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Register” color=”pink” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2FsCdA7njpfQ7GxAKHA”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”7498″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This anthology brings together 16 autobiographical texts created over 4 sessions that were born within the framework of analysis of pieces such as: the novel <\/span>Chapeo<\/span><\/a> by Johan Mijail; the musical genre of Dembow; the performative work of Josefina Baez; the short film “<\/span>Vegetal Love”<\/span><\/a> and the essay \u201cwriting against itself: a microtechnology of political subjectivation\u201d by the activist and writer Valeria Flores. This \u201carchivo torcido (distorted archive)\u201d offers a discursive statement where the \u201cI\u201d is proposed as a habitable place, from a trans poetics. <\/span><\/p>\n

The reading will be in Spanish with live interpretation in English.
