Board duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The M\u00c1S Board of Directors is made up of volunteer members of our community who, through centering Blackness, work to support the strategic vision and implement the mission and objectives of the organization in collaboration with the different M\u00c1S committees and staff. The <\/span>members of the <\/b>Board are vital to <\/span>the <\/b>building and maintaining of a collective ecosystem at MAS that has the capacity to sustain t<\/span>he challenging work of equity and sustainability<\/b>, <\/span>positive<\/b> organizational culture, collective structure and staff leadership development.<\/span><\/p>\n

The power and responsibilities of <\/span>our <\/b>board of directors are shared collectively, equitably and intentionally among the members of the board. <\/span>We are intentional in the distribution of work<\/b> to guarantee the sustainability of the work of the board of directors and the organization. The board aims to support each other in their positions to maintain unity, <\/span>sustainability and heart of<\/b> the work <\/span>we do<\/b> and to focus on the community <\/span>we serve,<\/b> not on the hierarchy of power. The <\/span>M\u00c1S <\/b>Board of Directors makes this possible with a model of shared leadership and collective decision-making that reflects our mission and values.<\/span><\/p>\n
