We want to continue working and connecting our communities with Afro-diasporic art; therefore, at M\u00c1S, we are making an editorial effort to produce resources that facilitate ways to: share and learn about the work we have done so far, and of which our entire community is a part; as well as raise funds to continue working and growing together.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9282″ img_size=”full” css=””][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=””]Support M\u00c1S activities by purchasing a calendar. <\/span><\/p>\n

This year we present the undated calendar we have prepared. In this edition, we seek to honor with an altar some of the traditions and programs with which we are connected. We hope you enjoy it.

Altars <\/strong>in Abya Yala are syncretic and diverse expressions of historical and spiritual memories blending African, Indigenous, and Catholic elements and symbolism. They function as visual archives condensing memories of resistance, migration, slavery, and spirituality. \u201cFor me, altars are portals connecting the spiritual and tangible worlds, facilitating the exchange of information between them\u201d (Milvia Pacheco)<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fanzine: Torcer las palabras
\n<\/p><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row section_id=”Fanzine” top_margin=”4″][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]Torcer las Palabras is a bilingual literary collection born from the workshop, Metresas and Imaginary Dissidents to Coloniality, led by Johan Mijail. The texts are a culmination of gender expansive expression written by fourteen trans and queer Afro and Indigenous authors. Together the intimate works invite readers to uproot, seed, transform, and bloom inside the galaxies of beauty embodied within Afro, Indigenous, trans, and queer existence.<\/span><\/p>\n
